"I bought this bag in November 2024 and used it happily until a couple of months ago. Instead of a conventional zipper, the main compartment relies on a rope-and-fastener closure system. I chose this bag trusting the brand's quality claims, but the rope came apart after only 1. 5 years of use. Now the fastener gets stuck every time I try to close the bag. Very disappointed with the product's longevity."
"The backpack is beautiful and I really like the overall design, but there are two issues worth mentioning. First, the back zippers don't feel very secure, as someone could potentially open them without you noticing. I've had to lock the two zipper pulls together to prevent anyone from accessing my laptop compartment. Second, the drawstring used to close the backpack wears out surprisingly quickly because of the closing mechanism. I ordered the backpack in December, but due to a shipping delay it only arrived in January, and I didn't actually start using it until the beginning of May when I returned to Germany to pick it up. So after only about two months of use, the cord already looks heavily worn (see attached photo), which is disappointing."
"I absolutely love this backpack and can highly recommend it, especially for frequent travelers. The size is perfect for plane travel and fits comfortably as hand luggage, while still offering plenty of space for everything I need. What impresses me most is that even when it's fully packed, it never feels overly heavy on my back. The broad, well-designed shoulder straps make a huge difference and make it very comfortable to carry, even for longer periods. The interior layout is another standout feature. I really appreciate how the compartments help keep everything organized and separate. There's dedicated space for documents, a laptop, and other essentials, making it easy to stay organized whether I'm traveling or using it for everyday activities. I also love the adjustable front closure straps. They are practical, secure, and allow me to adapt the backpack depending on how much I'm carrying. Another reason I'm so happy with this purchase is the excellent customer service. I had an issue with one of the closing elements, and the support team was incredibly friendly, responsive, and helpful. They handled my concern professionally and made the whole experience very positive. Overall, this backpack combines style, comfort, and functionality perfectly. It's spacious without feeling bulky, ideal for travel, and backed by a customer service team that genuinely cares about its customers. A fantastic investment for anyone looking for a reliable everyday or travel backpack."

"I had one of these in a different colour, but needed to use the warranty as it had torn at one of the seams. This version seems better constructed, I love the soft pouch for my laptop and the extra pull mechanism on the drawstring! I just returned from a 5 day trip, and I was able to use this for everything, it doesn't even look beat up after being stuffed under a seat on an airplane!"

"I am very happy with my Herschel bag. I upgraded in size because I wanted to use my bag for more than just school, so now it has seen the beach many times. It fits everything and I love the style and colour."
"I loved my previous Herschel backpack, so I thought buying a new one was a safe bet. i was very wrong. I don't know why, but Herschel has really ruined their design, and I don't think I'd every buy a new one again. Here's what's wrong: - Way less back padding than previous generations. It's barely there. - Thinner shoulder straps with way less padding. - The shoulder straps need to be readjusted every day because either the clasps or the ribbon is too easy to slip. - Buckles get damaged in a really ugly way real fast - New drawstring design is horrible. Can't be opened with one hand, requires you to pull the bag in two directions, and will lead to the string fraying within weeks. There is one new feature (the side zipper on the back), and that adds nothing at all. On balance, this is a huge step back in quality."
