Poor review due to fabric quality and no warranty
"I was really satisfied that I had found a functional and cute backpack. That joy lasted for about 6 months. The outer fabric of the backpack started peeling. When I contacted customer support for warranty, I was told that this kind of damage is wear and tear. $150+tax for such poor fabric quality is way below expectation. Beware."

Perfect for me
"I bought this for travel on airlines. The dimensions and the shape work perfectly for travel with the front pocket being flat instead of bulging out. It has now become my daily use backpack, I love it so much. It fits a lot in it too - I brought back a large blanket from my trip and it fits comfortably inside the main pocket. Very happy with the purchase."

If you want a backpack
"If you want a backpack that sits somewhere between a clean minimalist office bag, a proper tech organizer, and a compact travel backpack, the [Herschel Kaslo Daypack Tech]() absolutely nails that balance. The first thing that stands out about the Kaslo Daypack Tech is how intentional everything feels. Nothing about this bag is random. Every compartment, zipper placement, and storage area feels designed for people who actually carry tech every day laptops, chargers, cables, power banks, headphones, notebooks, travel documents, water bottles, all of it. Visually, the black version looks extremely clean and mature. It avoids the “high school backpack” vibe completely. The silhouette is structured without being boxy, and the branding is subtle enough that it works equally well in an office, airport, café, coworking space, or daily city use. It has that understated premium aesthetic that Herschel has gotten very good at recently. What really makes the bag impressive is the organization system. You get: a padded and fleece-lined laptop compartment for 15–16" devices, multiple internal organizer sleeves, mesh zip compartments, a front admin section with cable and accessory organization, a key clip, dual water bottle pockets, a hidden shoulder strap pocket for earbuds, a luggage trolley sleeve for travel, and intelligently separated compartments so your tech doesn’t become one giant mess. The laptop protection is genuinely excellent. The fleece lining prevents scratches, and the compartment placement close to your back improves weight distribution while also making the device feel secure. Herschel clearly designed this around modern tech carry rather than just throwing in a generic laptop sleeve. Material quality is another huge strength. The bag uses recycled 600D polyester that feels dense, durable, and slightly weather resistant without becoming stiff or heavy. The zippers feel robust, the stitching is clean, and the structure holds its shape well even when partially packed. It feels premium in the hand immediately. Comfort is better than expected for a slim tech-focused backpack. The padded shoulder straps, breathable mesh sections, and removable sternum strap make it comfortable even during longer walks or airport travel. It stays relatively compact on your back instead of protruding awkwardly like many “tech backpacks” do. Where this bag becomes especially strong is travel. The trolley sleeve is excellent, the compartment layout works beautifully for airport organization, and the slim form factor fits very naturally under airplane seats while still carrying a surprising amount of gear. Multiple reviewers specifically mention how well it performs as a travel companion without becoming bulky. The hidden AirPods/earbud pocket on the shoulder strap sounds gimmicky until you actually use it then you realize how convenient it is. Same with the quick-access outer compartments. This is one of those backpacks where small details quietly improve daily life. The only real criticism is price. Around the €130–150 range, it’s not cheap. And if someone wants maximum ergonomic hiking-style comfort or huge storage capacity, this is not that kind of backpack. It’s optimized for sleek organization and urban/travel efficiency, not hauling massive loads. But for the target audience professionals, students with tech gear, remote workers, commuters, travelers, people who want one backpack that does almost everything cleanly it’s honestly one of the best-designed minimalist tech daypacks currently available. It feels modern without trying too hard. Functional without looking tactical. Premium without screaming luxury. That’s hard to pull off."

Personal Item
"This backpack was bought to be the personal item allowed on airlines. It is sleek looking and sophisticated with many interior pockets and organizational pockets."

4 years and going strong
"OBSESSED. I purchased this back in 2022 (before it was named the kaslo daypack and when it was slightly cheaper) and it's really held up through years of weekly work travel (and some personal travel). It's slim, sleek (prevents me from overstuffing it but boy do I try). I love that it has both an elastic water bottle pocket and a non elastic one. There's great pockets in the outer sleeve (but not too many) and the outer most pocket is perfect for storing things I need easily accessible like my kindle, phone etc. I think it probably has another 4+ years in it - hasn't shown any signs of wear & tear. Can't recommend it enough."

Kaslo Daypack
"I wanted a daypack to replace my worn out MEC daypack. It has all the features I needed and worked very well on a recent trip. Fits under the seat in the airplane and fairly light to carry even when packed for travel."

Perfect Travel Partner
"I invested in this bag as I travel more now with work and needed something that holds a lot of items while staying slimline so I don't get caught our by the airline sizing boxes. It fits my laptop, portable monitor, iPad, two mobile phones, keys, wallet, glasses, over ear noise cancelling headphones, a book, water bottle, snacks, cable and all the other stuff I needed with me. The straps are comfortable, it sits on top of my suitcase securely and the grey colour is professional but not too boring. Highly recommend this backpack!"

Disappointing Quality & Misleading Customer Servic
"I purchased the Kaslo Daypack | Tech - 20L in Moonbeam Tonal in September 2025 for travel, expecting something practical and easy to maintain. Unfortunately, it has been a very disappointing experience. The biggest issue is the material: every time I use it, it picks up dye transfer from my pants (blue or black), especially on the lower back panel. After each use, I have to wash it, which is extremely inconvenient and not what I expected from a backpack at this price point. I reached out to the store to request an exchange, but they refused. What’s more frustrating is that when I originally bought it, the staff told me that if I wasn’t satisfied, I could bring it back and trade it in toward a new one by paying the difference. Now they are denying that option. Between the poor material quality and the lack of support from customer service, this has been a terrible purchase. I would not recommend this backpack."
